Personal information protection policy

GLASEL CO., LTD. (“GLASEL”) offers high-quality containers for a wide range of products, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, health foods and drinks. We take great pleasure in fully satisfying customers’ needs through our superior technologies, services and quality, thereby contributing to the wellbeing of local communities. Our business activities are based on the trust we have built up with our customers, business partners, employees and other stakeholders, and thus we have a serious obligation to properly and securely handle all personal information provided to us. Accordingly, we have established this personal information protection policy, and will ensure that all directors and employees of GLASEL fully comply with it.


  1. GLASEL has established a personal information protection management system according to the Japan Industrial Standards (JIS Q 15001 [Personal Information Protection Management System – Requirements]) and operates the system in an appropriate manner to ensure that all personal information necessary for performing business activities is handled in strict compliance with applicable laws, regulations, national policies and other rules.
  2. GLASEL clearly defines in advance the purpose of use of personal information to the extent necessary for performing its business activities to ensure that personal information is acquired, used and provided in an appropriate manner. GLASEL uses such acquired personal information only for the purpose defined in advance and takes necessary measures to prevent any information from being used for any other purpose.
  3. When entrusting a third party with the handling of personal information whether in whole or in part, GLASEL selects a party who meets an adequate standard for protection of personal information and also takes appropriate measures to ensure proper handling thereof by signing a contract with the party or by other means.
  4. GLASEL takes reasonable security measures to prevent leakage, loss or damage of personal information, and should any problem arise, takes action to correct (improve) the situation without delay.
  5. If any person submits a request to disclose, correct, delete, suspend the use of or otherwise handle his or her own personal information, or submits a complaint or request for consultation in this regard, GLASEL takes necessary action without delay.
  6. GLASEL reviews its personal information protection management system from time to time to ensure continuous improvement of this system.

Personal information handling policy

1. Acquisition and purpose of use of personal information

GLASEL CO., LTD. (“GLASEL”) will only acquire personal information in a lawful and fair manner and will never use illicit means for this purpose. We will also use your personal information only to the extent necessary to accomplish the following purposes, and will not use it for any other purpose without your prior consent.While you have the right to decide whether or not to submit your personal information, please note that GLASEL may not be able to offer the appropriate services if necessary information is not provided.

Personal information refers to information defined in Article 2 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Information (Law No. 57 of May 30, 2003), which allows the identification of a specific individual (including information that may be easily verified against other information and thus may allow the identification of the individual), and includes the following:


  • Name, date of birth, gender, occupation, telephone number, and address
  • ID No, email address, and other descriptions that allow the identification of a specific individual.

[Purpose of use of personal information]
GLASEL may use the following personal information in performing business activities to the extent necessary to accomplish the purposes described below.


  1. Personal information acquired directly from individuals in the course of business activities, which may be used to:

    • Respond to inquiries and requests for information about GLASEL’s products and services
    • Provide information about GLASEL’s products and services and relevant events
    • Contact the individual, maintain business records and for other purposes necessary for performing business activities
    • Take necessary measures for crime prevention and maintenance of order

  2. Personal information of individuals who apply for employment with GLASEL, which may be used to:

    • Screen applicants when making a hiring decision

  3. Other information that GLASEL may use includes:
    Voice records, which may be used to check the manner in which employees deal with customers and other stakeholders in the course of business activities and improve the manner as necessary

    • Records of individuals entering and leaving the premises of GLASEL
    • Personal information of the employees of GLASEL

When asking you to submit your personal information, we will clearly specify the purpose of use of the information as shown above and obtain your consent in advance. However, the process of specifying the purpose of use may be omitted in circumstances where the purpose is obvious, such as when exchanging business cards as a business custom, or when a customer requests a brochure or sample by telephone or other means.


Please be assured that we will use your personal information only for the purpose specified in advance, and not for any other purpose without your prior consent.
You may choose not to submit your personal information. In this case, please understand that we may not be able to achieve the purpose specified in advance.


2. Disclosure and provision of personal information to a third party

We will not disclose or provide your personal information to any third party except when:


  1. We are given your consent to do so.
  2. We are required to disclose personal information, to the extent necessary to achieve any of the purposes specified above in Item 1 of Purpose of use of personal information, to any of our cooperative or affiliated companies or business partners who are bound by a confidentiality agreement with us to outsource any part of our business. (For example, when we contract with a carrier for delivery of ordered products to customers, and when we outsource the shipping of our sample sets to an external company.)
  3. We are required to disclose personal information under an applicable law or regulation.
  4. We are legally obligated to disclose personal information by order of the court, police or any other public institutions.


3. Procedure for requesting disclosure of personal information, etc., and for submitting a complaint or a request for consultation

We will properly respond to any complaint or request for consultation about our handling of personal information and/or the personal information protection management system.
You may also request: notification of the purpose of use of your personal information; disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, removal and non-provision to any third party of your personal information, by taking the following steps.

  1. Fill in the above application form and send it to us together with a document that verifies your identity by delivery-certified mail or registered mail.
  2. If you are requesting notification of the purpose of use or disclosure of your personal information, please enclose stamps to the value of 880 yen per application.
  3. Even if you use a proxy to submit your application for notification of the purpose of use or disclosure of your personal information, we will send the notification and information to you, not your proxy.
  4. The personal information we may acquire through this application form will be used only for the purpose of handling your request. We will keep the application form and any accompanying documents for two years following the completion of our response to your request, and then destroy them.
  5. If you are using a document containing your permanent legal address to verify your identity, black out the address before sending it.
